Brian Nelson
Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Co-founder of private commercial real estate investment companies, including East West Capital, Brian focuses on uncovering value, structuring deals, and asset management. Since 2013, he has acquired, improved, managed and disposed of millions of square feet of office, industrial and residential projects, principally in the Carolinas. Over 25 years as an attorney, Brian was in AMLaw 100 firms and served as SVP/General Counsel to enterprise software companies. He played a key role in commercialization of proprietary solutions, acquisitions, and talent development, and led exits to private equity and strategic partners.
Brian received his Juris Doctorate (JD) from the University of Miami School of Law and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in the General Honors Program from the University of Maryland, College Park (Political Science, Economics, Spanish). Brian serves on the Board of Holy Cross Hospital, FL (Trinity Health); JAFCO Children’s Village Annual Poker Fundraiser Steering Committee; founding sponsor of the Victoria Mair Nelson Lymphedema Training Fund at the University of Miami, School of Medicine; and member of Men Giving Back.
Darren Hirsch
Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Darren has over 20 years of real estate investment, finance, development, and asset management experience. For over a decade, he was Vice President of Acquisitions at LRC Properties, a private real estate investment firm. There he oversaw acquisitions for much of the Southeast, with a focus on industrial, office, and mixed-use, including adaptive re-use assets. Darren was instrumental in the firm’s strong growth strategy. He has been involved in the acquisition, underwriting, and due diligence of over 14M SF of office, industrial and mixed-use assets. In addition, Darren has pursued, performed due diligence, financed, and/or analyzed over 30M SF.
Darren is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and a Principal Member of NAIOP, and is a long time member of the Union League Club. Darren received his MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and his BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also received his Commercial Real Estate Certificate from Cornell’s SC Johnson School of Business. Darren and his family give their efforts to various charitable organizations and needs.
